Weekend update full of pictures and a prayer group post. How’s that for a lengthy title!

Whooooo doggy! Or is it doggie?

Anyway, I have a lot to cover tonight so I’m going to start out with the Prayer update. Miss Deb started a prayer group and hooked us all up with prayer partners. I got G. I love G. She has become a great great friend, one I love dearly. I hold out hope that we will meet one day and it will be as if we’ve been friends forever. I updated at Deb’s place last week about my week of praying for G. You can go ahead and read it. I’ll wait. (ooo eee ooo ah ah) Okay, you back? Good, you’re all caught up. So I continued to pray for G and her trip home with her family. My prayer for her centered on those circumstances. I am happy to report that she is home now, safe and sound, and with praise of a great trip home (under the circumstances). You can read about it here. G has been praying for discipline for me. I can honestly say the last few weeks I have noticed a change in my mindset, my priorities, my demeanor. Of course I’ve had days where I battled some backsliding, but there’s been this still small voice and clever reminders to get me back on task. Moral of the story, this prayer thing works. 😆 Imagine that. heehee I’m anxious to chat with G one on one about her time at home and for any new prayer requests she has. (G I love you!) If you have time, check out more updates on Deb’s blog.

Now, about our weekend. Really it wasn’t anything spectacular, but some exciting stuff happened this weekend. There was the “Trumpet Sounding” clouds that appeared for about an hour. The boys had their first impromptu playdate here at the house. My friend Michelle across the street has three girls all around the same ages as the boys. The older two came over to play playdoh with the boys for a bit.

Aidan, Alyssa, Aliya, Dylan and the messy messy playdoh
I went to Michelle’s house that morning to watch something SUPER amazing! Her cat was having kittens! It was so incredible. By the time I got there one was already born so I got to watch the second one….and oh.my.gosh. It was so cool!
there's the first born reaching up, the second one is the clump underneath, still in the placenta

After she birthed it she cleaned it up and then….ate….the….placenta. I got a picture of that too but I’ll spare you. 😆  I talked to Michelle yesterday and one more had been stillborn. 😦 Tonight when I talked to her again ANOTHER had been still born. And they think there might be one more in there. 😦 So sad. At least she has two healthy little kittens right now. 🙂
Something exciting for Jake this weekend….he got his Mr.Beer finally! haha! We ordered it about two weeks ago and it came in last Monday but he was finally able to go get it on Saturday. And of course he IMMEDIATELY started brewing! 😆
Later on Saturday night we decided to go bowling. The boys LOVE bowling. We went really late too….didn’t leave here until 8:30 so we were there for Cosmic bowling….black lights and all! 😆 The boys got a kick out of it. The winner of the evening was yours truly which is amazing because normally Jake is a master bowler. haha! Must have been my night. 😉 Jake didn’t even break 100. heehee And yes, I like rubbing it in. he he he

Today we just sort of lazed around. Jake and the boys cleaned out the truck and found FOUR pairs of my shoes 😳 and about 15 sippy cups. 😯 I KNOW!!!! It was MESS.EEE. I slept until about 11 😳 Thank you Jake! I have been so super tired the last few days. It was nice to get caught up. Around 4 we all get dressed and went out to dinner. I had Dylan take a picture of me and Jake. Nevermind the unfinished wall behind us….I’m not done painting it. 😉
Nice tan Jake and pasty white me. he he

We went to Applebee’s for dinner and after we ate I gave Owen an Oreo cookies…. ha ha ha!!! Big mistake! 😆 I had to take him into the bathroom to clean him up, but before I cleaned off his face, I of course snapped a pic.
It was ALLLLLLL OVERRRRR him! 😆 His hands, his legs, his shirt. Everywhere! haha! I love it! He’s so cute. 😀
This week Jake’s parents are coming to visit (on Thursday) and they’ll be here for 10 days. The next few days will be spent getting ready for them to come, finishing up painting, and grocery shopping and all that jazz. Later this week I hope to do Part DOO of Jake’s interview, with all of your questions of course. 😉

  1. I am up at this crazy hour; my timing is all messed up and I decided to catch up with your blog. I love you so much too. Thank you for interceding on my behalf and for sending me love and encouragement through comments throughout my time there. I’m sorry I haven’t been all that great in responding. Things have been hectic and it’s been hard to “talk.”

Praise God that He has been faithful in answering both of our prayers. I truly praise Him for traveling mercy, for protection, for comfort and strength, and for allowing me to reconnect with my family.

And so thankful that He is working on areas in your life that I had been praying for too. That night we talked on AIM, I spent that time dedicated in prayer to things you had asked for. Sorry I haven’t been able to keep up with you and communicate but I’m back now so let’s try to get back into updating each other with prayer requests and testimonies.

I’ll be on AIM during the week so hit me up when you get a chance.

Love you so much Bwan. God bless you.

  3. Sounds like a fun weekend…. 🙂 You were very busy.. Sounds like the kittens were in there too long. I have had lots of Cats that had kittens, and usually it goes pretty quickly.

Yay for Jake letting you sleep in… That must of been amazing…

  5. Total! You CRACK ME UP! haha!! I changed my blog back to the very first design I had b/c my mother in law was having issues reading my blog when I changed before. For some reason she said the words got all jumbled and hard to read and she couldn’t see pics, and it only happened when I changed layout designs. *shrug* I told her I’d change back and see if that fixed it. We’ll see…. (Obama…heehee *giggles*)

Anna, yeah, I was wondering too if they were in there too long. When I was there while the second one was born, she was doing a LOT of panting and contracting and squirming but nothing was happening. I said the same thing to my friend, that I thought they stayed in too long. 😦 It was sad. And yes, the sleeping in was amazing….we kind of tag team on the weekends for that. We both get at least one day of sleeping in or a nap during the day. It works out pretty well.

Papa, Love you! Glad you enjoyed the pics! 😀

G, no worries about us not being able to talk. I completely completely understand and had no expectations. 😀 I knew that the night you and I shared prayer requests you were praying right then. And I did not expect you to even worry one small bit about me while you were there…I truly wanted you to put all your energies into time with your mom and sisters. I love you so much! I’ll find you on chat later! 😉

Everyone’s face should look just like Owens after eating Oreo cookies.

What a wonderful moment, seeing life coming into the world, no matter what the species.
