I only used about half of our Christmas tree ornaments this year. Down side to putting a tree in the corner!
To see the rest of our Christmas decor… a “holiday open house” of sorts… and to read the stories behind the ornaments……just click HERE.
It looks so great! And does it mean I’ve watched “Dirty Dancing” too many times if your second sentence made me want to say, “Nobody puts Baby in the corner.”???
ah great…now the dang song is STUCK in my HEAD!!!
Nice tree! We both need skinny trees…sigh….
that was so fun. thanks for the open house of your tree (open tree?). i so prefer a tree where each ornament tells a story and holds a memory and carries significance than one that is all matching and cute.
Cool. So the ballerina did not have any history with it… were you a child ballerina?
And yes, tell your boys that looks like a white tail deer but you will need a doe permit “to bring it home” hehe.
I love your tree and all the personalized ornaments. Your tree becomes a history of your family.
Thanks for posting all the pictures. A camera seems to be your favorite accessory.
Ed, a camera IS my favorite accessory!! haha!
Ric, I KNEW someone would ask about the ballerina! haha! No, I was never a ballerina. I’m too clumsy. 😉 I “won” that ornament at a family ornament exchange where we all bought ornaments that reminded us of someone in the family and then ask we exchanged them (white elephant style) we had to guess who they were. That was me b/c of the red hair. But the ballerina…. no sir! haha!
Alece, me too! I wish I could have gotten all of the ornaments on the tree…. we have a lot of older ones that Jake and I had when we were little.
Toni, I’d go for a skinny taller tree. 😉 Are you talking about the “O Christmas Tree” song? 😆
Sarah, that made me laugh a LOT! hahaha! And you can never watch that movie too many times. 😉
I have to say, that the white stuff around the tree doesn’t look like that in real life. For some reason the string in the middle REALLY shows up on here. Really it looks like fluffy snow around the tree. It’s also very silvery when the lights were on. Hmmm. I’m disappointed it didn’t come out better in the picture.
Brandy, did you take the photo with your flash on? That makes a huge difference… try taking it without the flash and the lights/decorations will show up looking more true to life.
Good point! I’ll try it later tonight! 😉
I just saw your slideshow… I just love that you have a sentimental Christmas heart 🙂
Can you come and do mine now???
Sarah, there’s a sentimental story to almost everything in my house! I love “stuff” with a story behind it. 😉
Heidi, YES! That means I get to see you right? 😉
Have a very Merry Christmas Little One! 😀 It was 81 here today – 😯
Papa!! Miss you! I’m glad you are enjoying such NICE weather. I am jealous…it was 6 yesterday evening here. 😯 haha!
i love the ornament in pic #11. the kiddo at the chair writing and the dog is underneath it. SO cute!
does it smell like Christmas too in your house?
SIX degrees?!?! that is wrong on so very many levels!
im so sorry girl!
fabulous tree! And I know what you mean about the Christmas layout. I feel the same about mine. 🙂
ah yes that letter he is writing says “Dear Santa” on it. ♥
It smells like cinnamon right now b/c we made cinnamon applesauce ornaments. Unfortunately we don’t get the tree smell. I need to buy a candle for that. 😉
And yes, 6 degrees….something HORRIBLY wrong with that. And people here say “oh this is nothing. It’s kinda nice out still.” 😯
Rachel, I like yours too! Love the falling snow! 😀
Sadly, girl, I was just thinking, “Six degrees isn’t bad. It’s the -23 that starts to bite…”
oh I know…. I’m NOT looking forward to negative temps. These low low temps kill me just walking across the street. 😯 Negative is going to SUCK. I’ll be watching a lot of movies! 😆
Lived in Lake Placid, NY during the 80’s, saw -43 on the thermometer one morning – not good! That’s not wind chill – brrrrr!
oh Papa! I hope to never see that here, although I’ve heard it’s possible. 😯
Checking the weather stats For Minot I see the low for Dec. 6th was in 1994 -23.
I hope you are stocked up with hot chocolate and smores.
Ed – you are going to scare our Little One! I Love hot chocolate – lets go to LIttle Ones and have a cup of cocoa! Wouldn’t that be special?!
yes! yes! come! come! Oh that would be fun! 😆
And we are all stocked up on hot chocolate. Smores, not so much. 😉 But we are fully loaded with marshmallows and whip cream to top the hot chocolate! 😀
As long as you have the mini ones… They melt faster!!!
If someone will pick me up on the way I’ll bring the graham crackers and chocolate to go with those marshmallows!!!!
Have ever had Reese’s in your smores Brandy?
Beautiful! you are so good at decorating and all the “domestic goddess” stuff..not me LOL I need Scott to help in order to even get it done! You do a great job Miss Bwan! love you (hope you all are staying nice and warm inside)
I love your Christmas tree & all your decorations.
I LOVE these pictures! I’m so inspired! I’ve got to do this myself before I take down all my Christmas stuff. I even found that we have some of the same ornaments. And very similar taste….of course. I LOVE Christmas decorating and never have anyone over to share my passion with. So this would be a great way to share. Thanks for introducing me to the idea.
Missy! OF COURSE we have the same taste! 😉 Which ornaments do we have that are the same? Take pics!!! I wanna see!!! 😀 I love Christmas decorating too, HOWEVER, I just took all mine down today. We put it all up right after Thanksgiving, so I’m a little burnt out on it by now. I think next year I’ll JUST do a tree. I have SO MANY decorations I feel all jumbled and cluttered. 😆
p.s. I LOVE that you commented!!! I’m so excited I’ll be seeing more of you online now that you got your new toy for Christmas! 😆
Okay PEEPS! I am jsut now realizing there are comments here I did not reply to! SHAME!
