Ever feel this way?

August 31, 2008

Bitter, frustrated, angry.
I’ve felt this way for about a week. :???:
It’s frustrating. Go figure. ;-)

Fat Witch Bakery

August 29, 2008

Last week when Dear Sweet Alece was getting cheech and chong removed, she had a contest for the 10,000th comment on her blog. With much effort on my part (read:obscene amounts of comments) I won! Today my prize arrived. I love prizes. :D  Wanna see what I got? Click Here. Also, keep in mind that I had no makeup on, I was in my nightgown, and I am sick. K? Thanks. ;-)

Love you Alece!

oh great

August 29, 2008

now I’m sick. Super sick. Just when I get used to a new routine with the boys and am all excited about it and keeping it going for them, I get WHAMMED with sickies. :???: And I had to cancel my hair appt. and we aren’t going out on our date tonight. It’s our night for our “date swap” with my friend/neighbor. I watched her girls last weekend and tonight was our night to go out. I’m bummed. :(  Oh well I guess huh.

I am all nasty and gross and my head is KILLING me. I am all sweaty and feel like I have a fever. My chest hurts and I’m coughing a little bit. I’m so bummed. Jake has a four day weekend and I get to spend it sick. Good and bad timing. Good b/c he’s home to (hopefully) help out with the boys and bad because our four day weekend will be wasted. :( Dylan is a little sick too, but not nearly like I am. Owen has the sniffles but he is also getting new teeth. Aidan though is fine. :D

Jake is upstairs sleeping still (he got up at 8 with them and then I got up at 10 and he went back to bed) and the boys are doing play doh right now. They want to do a craft so bad but I don’t have the energy to supervise the glue and glitter and scissors and stapling. Or “stampling” as they call it. ha ha ha!

I just want to go curl up in bed and sleeeeeeeep. :(

Aidan is trying to turn on the DVD player and he is pressing the wrong button and he just threw up his hands in the air and said “This is a piece of JUNK!” hahaha!!!! Oh man that is funny.

The other night Jake was reading books to the boys and in one book a kid had three slices of cake and Dylan said “wow! THAT is a lot of sugar there!” hahaha! Jake said to me later “well I think you made am impression about sugar intake.” heehee I’m always on them about sugary stuff.

Owen has really been “listening” to us lately. He dumps out the dog food ALL THE TIME and Jake said “Owen pick up the dog food and put it back” and he was picking up the pieces and putting them back. It’s so cute and fun to ask him to do something and then watch him do it. I love that he is learning. :D

Alright, off to drag about my day. ;-)

I’ve been busy

August 28, 2008

Hey all.  I’ve been busy. Really busy. I’ve wanted to post and post and post and had some cute posts in my head, which I of course don’t write down, so I forget them and am left with nothing. But I did take pictures, so that helped. Want to see what I’ve been up to? It’s been fun, it really has. ;-)

Saturday and Sunday I baked. I baked and baked and baked. And cooked. A lot. It was fun. I’m not sure WHAT got into me, but it was all I wanted to do. I even made a batch of some sinfully yummy brownies for Jake to take to work Monday. It’s all about the brownie points….no pun intended. ;-)

Sorry it’s a little blurry, I was shaking from a sugar high because I ate half of them. :???:

I also made another batch of brownies for us here at home. I must say, homemade brownies are so super easy and MUCH better than boxed. I was amazed. First time making them from scratch and it was easy easy. Too easy. I’m making more today.

I also made some breakfast cookies and baked oatmeal. Both recipes I got from my sister in law. The boys LOVE the baked oatmeal and the breakfast turned out good too. I made them with a flax seed cereal, so they’ve been very, um, regulating for the boys. ;-)

I also made cookies which I didn’t get a picture of. Bummer. They were cute pumpkins. For dinner one night I made some bread and chili and man oh man was that bread good. Since then I’ve made three more loaves. Yeah, we like bread. ;-)

That was some good chili. I gave half that loaf to my neighbor, and half of the chili. Yummmmm. *slurp*slurp*

Monday with the boys was BAD. B.A.D. BAD. I didn’t have anything structured for them to do b/c #1.  I was dead tired. I got only 2 hours of straight sleep, and then only 15 minutes here or there through the night. The kids were having a wierd sleeping night. And I paid for it. :???: So Monday was bad. So bad that when Jake got home I retreated and didn’t come out. Since then, we’ve been doing crafts and such ALL DAY each day. I went to the dollar store the other night and loaded up on craft supplies and things for them do to. They are LOVING it. And I kinda am too. I’m glad to have something the love doing so much, so our schedule now is breakfast, craft, snack, outside, lunch, outside/craft, nap, and then our evening routine. I’m also thinking of fixing the garage so they have a play area in there for when the weather gets bad or too cold for them to be outside. I’m going to order some bouncy balls and belly scooter for them. The garage is big enough and empty enough for them ride their bikes in there too. I’m excited to get it set up.

Here are some pics of their fun crafty stuff and some of the stuff they’ve made. ;-)

They love this ABC banner up. For Dylan it’s a little redundant, but he enjoys helping Aidan learn them. :D They sit at the table facing this and sing it together. TOO CUTE! :D
Okay, hope that has everyone up to speed.  I’m getting my hair hacked off tomorrow so be ready for some more pics! ;-)
*******I just read through this and I am CRACKING UP at my typos. And I SWEAR that when I typed “dinosaur” for Dylan’s picture I was THINKING elephant. I swear. I have had no caffeine today. This is my problem. hahahaha!

One of THOSE days

August 21, 2008

Just sayin.

My mind is so full of junk lately that I can’t seem to think straight. Ever felt super stressed and not know why? Yeah, that’s me right now. I mean, I know why, sort of, but not really. See. Stressed.
I enjoyed doing the posts about the boys b/c that was easy. I only set out to do the one of Aidan but then felt bad (mom guilt is great) so I did the other two, and with each kid, I wrote more. Someone who shall remain nameless (nameless because I don’t want my mom to think I’m pointing fingers at her or anything. Hi! Mom! heehee) pointed out to me that I didn’t have NEARLY as much to say about Aidan. Which was not intentional. So, I will amend that. Later.

Where was I? Oh yes, random.

Mosquitos I think are from the DEVIL. DEEEEVVVVIIIILLLL. When Jake’s parents were here, I got SEVEN bites on ONE foot. ONE FOOT! The other had five. I was in some serious pain. And my feet were swollen from scratching so much. I hate mosquitos. Hate them.

I feel better when I shower first thing in the morning. Go figure. (yes mom, I know  ) Problem is, it’s hard to get one in before the boys wake up (because I like to sleep) and it’s even harder for me to get one AFTER they wake up. I need to fix that.

I miss my blog friends. I feel like I’ve been on here less, which is good, but still, I miss them. You guys. All of you. All y’all.

Friends is by far one of the funniest comedies ever. Watching it right now so I thought I’d throw that in there.

Oh! Oh! Oh! We finished our painting. It looks GOOD! And I rearranged the living room and it looks GREAT! My friend Michelle across the street helped me. It was nice to have a friend here helping me do stuff. It was fun. :)

I’m addicted to sweet tea. Iced. Is there any other way really? I’m out of it right now, so I’m kind of crabby in the morning. Sweet tea is my coffee. LOVE. IT. I made some of my own since I ran out of my Arizona Southern Style Sweet Tea (oh my it’s so good, and I’m not a huge fan of bottled sweet tea) and I only had Splenda. Yeah, not so good.

oh! I’ve been a cookie making FOOL! I bought a cookie press from Pampered Chef and man oh man do I LOVE it! I’m experimenting with different recipes to see what kinds I can use with it. It’s so much fun. It’s one of those finds that you want to give to everyone at Christmas! HAHA!!

Peanut is mad at us. :???: Yesterday he pooped and peed in the house and this morning he REFUSED to go outside so I figured he didn’t need to go so I gave up getting him outside. Then, he walked straight over to our rug runner and POOPED. He’s definately mad about something. Probably because we’ve decided not to let him on the furniture anymore. Which I’m having a hard time with, but Jake is insisting. :(

I got my first sunburn of the summer. And summer here is winding down! HA!! On the radio they said “summers about winding down now” and I thought they were joking. I asked my friend and she said “oh yeah, it’s pretty much over.” This weekend it’s going to be a high of 75.

Ummmm, that’s about all the randomness I can think of for now. Hope it was beneficial. hahaha!

He makes my eyes wet….

August 19, 2008

Ahhhhh my first born.

Nothing compares to your first baby. And only those with more than one can understand how the love for your first is different. Not more or less or better….just different.  I didn’t love Dylan right away. I know, I know. I should be put in a test tube and studied. But I didn’t. And I kept it a secret for a long time. Now I tell any new mom my story of not loving him instantly. It’s interesting how many other newbies actually relate and say “thank you” for sharing. It took me about a week to fall in love with him. After I delivered him my best friend called and said “do you just love him so much?! would you just give your life for him in a heartbeat?!”  I lied. I didn’t tell her I lied until she was pregnant with her first.

I had to learn to love him. He was new and I was new and I didn’t know him. The thought that “they” were letting me take home this “thing” was unreal to me. It also didn’t help that Jake wasn’t there for me to share it with. He was in Texas. In school to become a nasty recruiter. Never recruit if given the choice. Ever. My mom was with me though and there was NO WAY I was telling her.

a little blurry but I love it!

a little blurry but I love it!

Dylan put me through trial by fire. I think that is why I feel like my connection to him is so different. I had so much to learn. And he taught me. He made me a mommy.

He is the most like me out of all three too. Oh man is he like me. My mom calls it payback. I agree. He is so incredibly frustrating for me on a daily basis. He is challenging I should say, which is frustrating for me. He is loud, as am I. He is emotionally charged, as am I. He is a controller, as am I. He is bossy, as am I. And he likes to argue, as.do.I. And the list goes on and on.  So imagine how often we butt heads on a daily basis? ;-)

But no matter how challenging he is, man oh man can that kid make me smile, make my heart soar, and make my eyes wet. :) He is smarter than I think I even realize, this my mom tells me all the time. He LOVES to learn. Loves it. I am so proud of my little guy.

First day of preschool LAST year

First day of preschool LAST year

Came back to add: Dylan just came in chattering away to me and I said “your voice sounds different today bud (yet another change!)” and he said “well that’s just the way my BRAIN IS!” hahahaha!!!!
