Can someone please explain TECHNORATI to me???? I can’t make sense of it. And somehow I have views coming from it. I don’t even know what it is! *sigh*

    Technorati is a blog ranking service. They are the one source that takes all blogs and puts them into 2 rankings. 1 is overall ranking and the other is an authority ranking.

    The overall ranking is the actual rank in the midst of millions of blogs.

    the authority ranking is given when people link to you, whether in a blogroll or in a post.

    Your blog is always available vis search on Technorati, so if someone searches for something like, “Spunky red head with 3 boys and a husband that forgets Mother’s Day” your blog would come up :)

    There is nothing you need to do to be involved with it. It automatically ranks your web page, but you can join and claim your blog and then favorite other blogs and get more rankings.

    So for fun, I just checked out your stats.

    Ranking overall, Rank: 574,833
    Authority ranking, Authority: 17

    Make more sense?

    Authority is how many people currently have active links to you blog from their website.

    Authority is big because it means that people are sending other people to your blog
