Because I really like to laugh….and I’m addicted to YouTube
April 29, 2008
This video is HILARIOUS!!!!! I have recently become addicted to YouTube and the many funny clips it offers of some of my favorite shows. It’s wonderful b/c I can watch the funny stuff and leave out the boring stuff.
One of my favorite shows is Everybody Loves Raymond b/c really, I am married to Ray I think sometimes. And really, Jake is married to Debra sometimes.
Enjoy this HILARIOUS clip and while watching it, know that I was laughing so hard I was crying and trying NOT to pee my pants.
When you’re done, tell me what your favorite comedy is so I can look it up on YouTube for some more laughs.
Happy 4th Birthday Dylan Lukas!!!

Dylan turns FOUR YEARS OLD at 3:29pm April 28th. I cannot believe my baby is turning FOUR. FOUR. FOUR YEARS OLD. To some of you seasoned parents, four seems like nothing, but he is my first baby. I remember the day he was born like it happened this morning. At dinner tonight I was telling him EXACTLY what I had for dinner four years ago, b/c I remember exactly what I had for dinner four years ago. My mom made me one of her comfort dishes. Now, some of you may cringe, but we love this dinner….. fried spam, fried potatoes, corn, green beans, and macaroni and cheese. I rarely eat it anymore, but I love when my mom makes it for me. YUM! We joke that that is the meal to make a baby want to exit FAST. haha! I even tried eating it at the end of the next two pregnancies to see if it would spark anything.
Out of all of my kids, Dylan is the most like me in every way possible. My connection with him is different than the other two also. Not more or better, just different. I had to learn everything with him. I didn’t love him instantly either.
Don’t look at me like that. I’m being real here. I felt protective of him, like it was my responsibility to take care of this…this… THING… but I had no emotional attachment to him right away. I TOLD people I loved him immensely. I TOLD people I would give my life for him in an instant. I TOLD people I was happier than ever. I wasn’t. I wasn’t NOT happy, but I wasn’t “in love” with him either. I didn’t KNOW him. It took about a week for that attachment to set in. A week of sleepless nights. A week of crying jags. A week of trying to learn how to breastfeed. A week of trying to figure out this whole entire new person. Trial by fire. I’m still not sure I’ve passed.
What I am trying to say is, I had so far to go to learn to be a Mom with Dylan, that my attachment to him has a lot to do with what he taught me about being a mom. Oh yes, a baby can teach you a few things.
With Aidan, it was a lot easier, I was more laid back. And poor Owen, he just got thrown into the mix.
Four years ago I became a Mommy. And this is the boy who did it to me.
(forgive me b/c the pics aren’t in perfect order and I couldn’t figure out how to change that)

To tickle your funny bone….and because I am lazy
April 26, 2008
I have no energy or complete thoughts right now that would be worth blogging about. It would be a majorly random post if I did blog. I am however LOVING reading up on everyone else’s blogs. One such blog was Miss Mandy’s. Her post talking about her love of the Friends episodes sent me into a tummy aching gut busting laugh session while I watched just about every youtube video having to do with Friends. My favorite is Ross and I have included a small montage here for your viewing pleasue. Also, the Leather Pants episode is by far one of my favorites. So, thank you to my blogging friends who are giving me lots to read while I feel like writing nothing about anything.
Oh, and to Mandy for the hilarious Friends chit chat. It couldn’t BE any funnier.
It’s anyones guess….

So Tammy inspired me with this post to do a post about what I just ate for lunch. I was sitting there eating thinking “if I posted the ingredients to what I had for lunch, I wonder if anyone could guess what it is I am actually eating and drinking?” And then I ventured over to her blog to see that she had just done a post on what she had for lunch (which btw, will never do for this lover of food
) and I thought “I’m gonna post my ingredients.”
So, here they are. And Love, I know, I know, I know….. probably not the BEST thing in the world, but there are worse things.
Whyyyyy do I hear your (Love’s) “voice” whenever I post about food?????
What I ate: (2 kinds of this btw):cultered pasteurized milk, salt, enzymes, annatto(color), potato starch, and powdered cellulose added to prevent caking, natamycin (a natural mold inhibitor) Contains: milk
WITH THIS: enriched bleached wheat flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamine, mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), water, vegetable shortening (soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil), seasoning(salt, maltrodextrin, jalapeno pepper, onion, yeast, extract, garlic, citric acid, modified cornstarch, partially hydrogenated cottonseed and soybean oil, natural and aritificial flavor, disodium inosinate, disodium guanylate, aritificial color-fd&c yelow #5 and #6-, silicon dioxide-anticaking agent-, and contains 2% or less of: salt, leavening (sodium bicarbonate, sodium aluminum sulfate, corn starch, monocalcium phosphate, and/or sodium acid pyrophosphate, calcium sulfate), calcium propionate and sorbic acid and/or potassium sorbate (preservatives), distilled monoglycerides, wheat starch, amylase, tricalcium phosphate, cellulose gum, dough conditioners(fumeric acid, sodium metabisulfite and/or mono-and diglycerides. Contains:wheat.
And while I ate that, I drank this: carbonated water, caramel color, aspartame, phosphoric acid, potassium benzoate (preserves freshness*), caffeine, citric acid, natural flavors. Phenylketonurics:contains phenylalanine.
*isn’t that like an oxymoron or something??????
So, what did I have for lunch? Any takers???
I interrupt this blogging break to ask you…

….HOW DO YOU UNPACK?!?! WITH THREE KIDS UNDERFOOT?!?!
Seriously, any unpacking ideas would be great. Teresa (SIL) gave some awesome ones and I have mostly tried to go by that, but I am STILL having trouble. Oh yeah, and Jake isn’t here to help so it’s all me.
DROWING PEOPLE!!! DROWNING I TELL YOU!!!
Need A Break
April 20, 2008
So every once in a while I get a little tired of my blog. I’m sure I’m not the only one.
haha! I’m just not feeling very bloggy lately. I think it has a lot to do with how tired we are I am. Seriously, this whole sleeping on the floor on an ultra thin camping mattress really sucks the life out of you. I haven’t been this tired since I was 9 months pregnant. Seriously, THAT TIRED.
So, I am taking the pressure off of myself to blog. I do that. Put pressure on myself when it’s not needed. It’s like learning, once it’s required of you, it’s not fun anymore….which is why I always hated school. Love learning, hate school. Soooo, being the black and white person that I am, I have blog standards that are ridiculous.
I keep coming back to this issue in my life. It is my nemesis. Black and White. All or Nothing. And it is soooo tiring.
A week or two ago my sister in law went on STRIKE on her blog. hahaha!! I thought it was hilarious b/c I knew just what she was talking about. Now that she has retired her STRIKE sign, I am borrowing it.
I didn’t say I wouldn’t be reading though.
Ranting….it calms the frustrations
April 18, 2008
So, I must first say, I am following Darla’s lead and doing my first ever RANT post. haha! I love a good rant. I’m actually kind of a ranting person by nature, although it’s usually driven by low blood sugar and an empty stomach…..or a need for caffiene. haha!
- the nasty pungent smell that makes it’s way down to the base on a windy day, in which case would be everyday here in Minot.
(btw, that smell, it’s from a sewege plant up the highway a ways and only smells in the spring when it’s thawing out from the winter. Lovely.
) - when my kids ask us something LITERALLY 100 times in a day. “Are we really going to the park like you said?” “YES! Like I said 99 other times today, we are REALLY going to the park!” ……. ten minutes later “We are still going to the park later aren’t we mommy?” *sigh*
- when Owen REFUSES to go to sleep and INSISTS on playing and cooing and laughing in a way that only a gorgeous baby can….. in a way that you almost can’t refuse.
I said almost.
- Walmart associates who take it as a personal offense when you return something that didn’t work out for you (rug
) - when someone has been asking for pictures and you send them only to find out they haven’t even looked at them yet.
haha (I must clarify, I actually find this funny in an annoying way. Make sense? Good) - moochers….. specifically moochers who don’t KNOW they are mooching. Worst kind.
- OH! People who ride motorcycles w/o ANY kind of protection on at all. Makes my skin crawl.
We’ve seen a LOT of that here. Gives me chills. - The most annoying thing I saw this week….. parents that were pushing their BABY (little little baby) in a stroller with the baby still in the carseat so it was facing them, it was just attached to the stroller, and they were smoking and the smoke was LITERALLY blowing in the baby’s face.
You may want to smoke, but I’m fairly sure your newborn baby doesn’t. - I especially love when I take my morning to sleep in (we alternate sometimes) and I get up after Jake and the boys have been up a while only to find that no diapers have been changed and no one has been fed. This also happens when I am getting ready to go somewhere. It’s like time stands still until I arrive. Their bladders however, don’t.
When I bring this to Jake’s attention, he looks like someone just shook him awake from a coma and starts to nervously giggle.
- And my number ONE rant right now….. that we know EXACTLY where our furniture is and we can’t get it yet.
We literally drive RIGHT BY IT everytime we go into town, but we still have to wait to get it. Stinks. I told Jake I want to break into the place, find my couches, and just sit.
haha!
*DEEEEEEEEEEEEEP BREATH* Okay I feel better now.
Those weren’t so bad. They were mostly those funny annoyances. I can laugh at almost all of those rants, almost. Give or take a few.
I can laugh, b/c laughing is sometimes all you can do when you’re frustrated.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaa!
New House Pics!
April 17, 2008
You can see pics of our new house HERE. Keep in mind that it is still basically an empty house.
ENJOY!!!
I’m a cheater
April 17, 2008
I realized after I finished typing an email to my sister in law that I could basically have typed it all in a blog! haha!
So, I copied and pasted parts of it.
Forgive my laziness. haha!
I have not been feeling too well since we got here last week. I think it is all the fast food, even though at home right before we left we were eating a lot of fast food. I think it is just a combo of that and stress. Although I think I am adjusting well. I told Jake today that I think we are doing fairly well considering we were used to a break from the boys at least once a week, and have now had nothing. It’s like I don’t even feel like I need that at all. And it’s wierd too b/c there are places that Jake and I want to go and we say “oh we’ll have to try that place” or “we should go do that” but realize we can’t b/c the boys can’t go and then remember that we have no one to watch them. I am kind of freaking out b/c here soon Jake is going to have to go 7-level school and that is two weeks long, so that will be two weeks I will have to be here alone and w/o knowing anyone. There is one family that PCS’d here the same time as us and they were at Whiteman with us, and I knew the wife pretty okay….she was my “mentor” for when I was getting licensed for my home daycare. I hope we run into them here soon. Jake just was told about it at work that they moved here too and are currently over in TLF.
We were busy today. I had to go get my military ID card, we had lunch at the BX and then we went to the mini mall (shoppette) and got two area rugs. One 5×8 for $128 and one 9×6 for $27 (the cheap thin one for the playroom). We came home and waited for the cable guy. He came and installed that stuff. I went up to check on Dylan napping (b/c he was making noise) and he asked me to lay down with him. I layed down with him around 4 and next thing I knew Jake was waking me up at 7:30!!!!!!
I couldn’t believe I slept that long at all! I was so tired. Jake kept me up until 3:30 last night….we were watching a movie he got for me before we left. 27Dresses. Mike downloaded it and gave Jake a copy for me. It is SUCH a good movie!! I loved it.
Anyway, after I woke up at 7:30 we loaded up the boys and went to the park quick b/c I promised Dylan that if he slept we would go…..and a promise is a promise even that late! haha! After that we came back, I made them pb&j at their request and we headed into town to go to walmart to look at their rugs. Jake and I got Arby’s and ate it quick. In WalMart they had a better colored rug, same size, for only $71 so we go that and are going to return the other one to the shoppette. I am going to get another cheapy one though for the playroom b/c there is so much floor down there to cover. Already it is helping with the sound so I am happy about that.
========(that was email)=======
Dylan cried for my mom today.
Granted it was b/c he was in trouble but it was still painful hearing him cry and saying he wanted grandma.
We had to explain to him about all the driving we did and how we can’t go back all the time, but we can call on the phone. I told him we could call grandma after the phone gets hooked up. He wants to call my mom, Jake’s parents, Granny, and McKenna. Haha! Oh, and he talked about how we saw Kambrie in Portland on our way here and asked if we would see her again when we drove back home to visit next time. haha!
At walmart where we got the other rug for a much better price, we also got a rug runner, a smaller area rug, and a welcome mat all for the entryway and into the kitchen. We also got some bath mats for our bathroom b/c we just tossed our other ones before we moved. I got a cute little fake pot of grass that matches the rugs for the bathroom. I going green in there….sage/lime greens to go with our palm tree towels and decor in there. I am excited b/c I have a whole other bathroom now to decorate downstairs!
I love decorating!
We are sitting here in our kitchen where the table will go with our new rug, two camp chairs, and our tv up on the bar so the kids can’t touch it. We have our own redneck living room going on in here! hahaha!
We have the essentials to keep us entertained until our furniture gets here! Oh! And toys for the boys of course. I can’t wait to set up their playroom. It is going to be so cute. I need Jake to find out if we can paint or not, but I kinda think we can’t. I don’t see any evidence that the people before us painted but maybe they just didn’t want to????? A girl can hope right?? haha!
=======
I just looked up at what Jake is watching….and it’s on CNN Larry King and he is talking with the women of the polygamist ranch raid that just happened recently. Very odd. And creepy. I have chills. It just makes me sick at my stomach and sad for the kids and the things they are talking about what happened there.
Movin’ In!
April 14, 2008
Okay just really quick, we got our house this morning and are moving into it tonight! We don’t get our stuff for a few days though so we will be camping out in our new house! haha!! Luckily we have stuff from the trailer to use for a few days. We won’t get our internet connection until Wednesday or a phone until Thursday. I am hoping to find a wireless connection in the mean time but who knows.
I will update later about the house….which is AWESOME and just what we prayed for! AMEN!
I will be back with pictures of it too….I PROMISE (teresa!) that I will have pics.
I am so excited!
Love you all!
